The Unstoppable Collection

Founded in 1831 with a "whites only" policy, the University of Alabama's segregation was challenged in 1952. She was the first African-American student, enrolled in 1956, facing hostility but later honored by the university that had initially rejected her.

Fact:

On 11 February 2022, the university renamed Bibb Graves Hall to Autherine Lucy Hall.
