Paris, 1925. Joséphine Baker walks onto the stage of the Théâtre des Champs-Élysées and stops the city cold.
Her "danse sauvage" in La Revue Nègre made her famous overnight. The banana skirt at the Folies-Bergère made her immortal. She had arrived from America bringing everything Paris didn't know it was missing, and Paris never recovered.
She became a French citizen in 1937. She adopted 12 children.
She called them her Rainbow Tribe.
