She invented the riddling table, revolutionized how champagne is clarified, smuggled her bottles into Russia ahead of the competition, and built the house that still bears her name. They called her the Grande Dame de la Champagne. In 1972 the house created an annual prize in her honor, rewarding women entrepreneurs. It now exists in 18 countries.

In one of her last letters, she told her granddaughter to always be inventive, bold, and audacious.
