The Famous French Collection

Omar Sy's English wasn't great yet. Americans kept mangling his name. So he taught them a trick: in French, "homard" - lobster - sounds exactly like "Omar." So he'd say, "Sy, like a (h)omard from the sea." The pun worked. The name stuck.

That same confidence carried him from Intouchables - where he played a man from the projects who becomes caregiver to a wealthy quadriplegic - straight to the César for Best Actor. First Black actor to win it.

Then straight to Hollywood, no translation needed.
